This famous theme park located in Sasebo, Nagasaki prefecture recreates the atmosphere of the Netherlands by displaying a variety of life size Dutch buildings. Huis Ten Bosch gets its name from one of the residence of the Dutch Royal Family. The Park features many Dutch style buildings including hotels, villas, museums, shops, restaurants, iconic windmills, scenic canals and gardens filled with seasonal flowers. Built in 1992, this European wonderland’s location reflects upon the historical relations between Japan as a trading post opened by the Dutch as far as 400 years ago during the early Edo period.
