Kosanji Temple

Kosanji Temple was devoted towards the mother of a successful businessman, which took more than 30 years to complete. Many of the buildings at this temple are modeled after some of the most famous temple structures of Japan including the Yomeimon Gate of Nikko Toshogu and the Phoenix Hall of Byodoin. The vibrant colors and architecture attract many visitors while traveling in Hiroshima Prefecture. A long cave features images which illustrates the Buddhism hell with many illuminated artwork available on the sides of the dimly lighted cave walls for visitors to view. A luxurious strolling area named Miraishin no Oka, which is situated on a hill located high within the temple grounds features structures and statues made of Italy imported marble. Although this area doesn’t contribute to the religious factor of the Kosanji Temple, travelers still enjoy the artistic atmosphere it provides at this religious site than that of other temples in Japan.
