Enoshima is a short train ride west of Kamakura and is known as a touristy island. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge and has many attractions available. While there you can visit Enoshima Shrine, get great views from the observation tower that doubles as a light house, venture through the Iwaya Caves, ring the Love Bell, walk around Enoshima Aquarium, and relax on the beaches. You can enjoy most of these attractions by purchasing the Enopass, which is a bundle ticket that includes admission and escalator use for 1000 yen. Enoshima Shrine is dedicated to Benten, Goddess of Beauty and Wealth, who is said to have created the island before she subdued a five headed dragon that terrorized the area. On one side of the island is the harbor where yachts and other motorized vehicles make port. On the other side is a wooded area that can only be explored on foot.
