Shibuya (渋谷) is a popular shopping and entertainment area for people to hang out. It is where the famed large crosswalk intersection located in front of the Hachiko Exit of Shibuya Station. The special city ward is the center for youth fashion and culture. Within its streets it has been the birthplace of many fashion and entertainment trends. Around the area you can see many major department stores, but the iconic Shibuya 109 is the trend setting fashion complex. Most of the large fashion and department stores either belong to Tokyu or Seibu corporations. One of the popular meeting places for people is in front of the Hachiko Statue. The statue is dedicated to a dog named Hachiko that waited every day at the same spot as the sculpture even after his master passed away. Walking around Shibuya you will be surrounded by neon lights, shopping, dining, and entertainment options.
