Beppu Hells refers to the eight hot springs that
are meant more for viewing than for bathing.
They city of Beppu is located within
the Oita
Prefecture on Kyushu and is known throughout Japan
as one of the most famous and popular hot springs
resort. Beppu is known for its hot springs and
produces more hot spring water than other resort in
Japan. There are a large variety of hot spring onsen
baths available for guests, including mud baths, sand
baths, steam baths, and regular hot springs baths.
Popular locations other than the baths are the
Umitamago Aquarium, Mount Tsurumi, Museums,
and Takasaki Monkey Park.
There are a few hot springs located in Beppu that are
very unsafe for people to go into. Beppu Hells
consists of hot springs that are perfect for viewing.
There are eight different hot springs that are open for
the public due to how beautiful and unique they look.
These eight hot springs are all located in different
areas within Beppu and offer its own unique view.
The names of the different Hells are Umi,
Oniishibozu, Shiraike, Kamado, Oniyama, Yama,
Chinoike, and Tatsumaki. Some of the hot springs is
blue, white, and red or have animals like crocodiles.
Some of the hot springs is also designated national
special scenic spots as well. At some of the locations
you can enjoy a special pudding that was made using
the steam from the hot spring.
