Naoshima Island is known for the

Benesse
Corporation. It is located in the Seto Inland Sea and
is
part of the Kagawa Prefecture. The island has a
Mediterranean type atmosphere with sunny weather
and
sandy beaches. Naoshima Island can be reached by
taking a ferry to any of the three ports at Miyanoura,
Honmura, and Seto. It is a popular place to visit to
escape the hustle and bustle of the city. As you
wander
around the island you can see various contemporary
works that complement the surrounding nature.
One of the popular places to visit is the Benesse
House,
which doubles as a museum and hotel. It has four
buildings: the Oval, Museum, Park and Beach that
were
designed by the famed architect Ando Tadao. It is
there
on Naoshima Island that you can see the famed
pumpkin sculpture at the end of the pier. The
sculpture
has become iconic of the island and many people go
there to take a picture of it. Even though Benesse
House is a popular attraction there are also Chichu
Art
Museum and Lee Ufan Museum, which were both
designed by the same architect.
