Tokyo Tower is the old television communication
tower, which has now been converted to the Tokyo One
Piece Tower. It was modeled after the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Tokyo Tower is situated in the center
of Tokyo city. It
was
the tallest self-supported steel tower in the world until
the Tokyo SkyTree was completed in 2012. The tower
was modeled after the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Not only
is it
a popular tourist spot, but was the main television
broadcasting antenna until its duties were passed on.
The main observatory is located at 150 meters of the
tower and can be reached by elevator or 600 step
staircase. Inside the tower there are some lookdown
windows where you can stand and see what is below.
The special observatory is at 250 meters high and if
visibility is good you can see Mount Fuji in the
distance.
At the base of the tower is a four story complex
known
as Foot Town. It houses a variety of souvenir shops,
restaurants, museum and many more. In 2015, an
indoor amusement park was added to Foot Town.
The
amusement park is centered on the popular anime
and
manga series One Piece. It was opened on the 15th
anniversary of the manga and was named One Piece
Tower. There are a variety of shows, games, photo
spots with the characters and food places. For
anyone
who is a fan of the series it is well worth the visit.
