This tour is designed for people who want to see the most popular sights of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hiroshima during the spring season. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Japanese Alps regions, as well as Shirakawa-go and Kanazawa. Catering to a wide variety of interests, our “Best of Japan” itineraries offer travelers a sample of cultural aspects, architectural styles, nature spots, hot spring baths, contemporary sights, and traditional Japanese cuisine.

Begin your tour in Tokyo, where our private guides and tours will help you navigate through the city’s historical monuments, trendy neighborhoods, and diverse shopping districts. You will even have the chance to learn how to make your own sushi with a professional chef. Enjoy impressive views of the scenery at Hakone, Owakudani, and Mt. Fuji. Stay at a Japanese ryokan (traditional inn), where you can relax in the therapeutic waters of a hot spring bath (onsen) and dine on gourmet kaiseki cuisine.

Continue to Matsumoto for its elegant Black Crow Castle (Matsumoto Castle) before traveling to Takayama, located amongst the Japanese Alps. The area maintains a unique and traditional atmosphere due to its remote location, and features beautifully preserved structures. Visit the charming village of Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO designated town recognized for their gassho-zukuri architectural style. Stroll through the beautiful Kenrokuen Garden in Kanazawa, then board a high-speed bullet train to Kyoto.

Spend two days in the historically famous city of Kyoto, where you will have exclusive access to the city's top gardens, temples, shrines, and specialty shops. Our travel group will have the opportunity to experience a green tea ceremony and meet a maiko (apprentice geisha) . Visit Arashiyama, located on the outskirts of Kyoto, where you will explore the area's bamboo forest and see a traditional Zen garden at Tenryuji Temple. Make your way to Nara, where you will visit the extraordinary Todaiji Temple and a park full of 1,000 freely roaming Sika deer. You will also get to spend time in Osaka, a city with a reputation for its lively night life and shopping districts.

Visit the brilliant Himeji Castle before touring the picturesque canal town of Kurashiki. Travel to Hiroshima for an eye-opening experience at the Peace Memorial Museum, then continue to Miyajima Island to see the "floating" torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine. Afterwards, drive through the Shimanami Kaido, a scenic toll road that connects Japan's main island of Honshu to the island of Shikoku. From there, you can enjoy views of the Kurushima Kaikyo Bridges and the Seto Inland Sea at the Kirosan Observatory.

Journey through the beautiful, unspoiled valleys of the Oboke Gorge on a scenic boat ride. Climb 1,368 stone steps to the Kompira-gu Shrine, and visit the Japanese landscape masterpiece of Ritsurin Garden in Takamatsu. End your tour with a world famous Wagyu beef dinner in Kobe.
