One of our most popular tours with an added twist, this tour takes you to the must-see sites of Tokyo, Kyoto, Mt. Fuji, and Hiroshima as well as a few seasonal specialties that you can't miss. The first of these is the Shibazakura at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Here, the ground is covered in short pink flowers. The combination of the lake and Mt. Fuji in the background make for some breath-taking photographs. The next special stop on this tour Snow Monkey Park where you can see wild monkeys behaving very human-like. These monkeys have taken quite a liking to the local hot springs and so had land designated for their use which includes a hot spring pool. While the monkeys are famous for being photographed during the winter, they can be seen in the park all year round. This tour also includes a night at an onsen hotel (Japanese style room) where you will be able to enjoy the traditional experience of bathing in the natural mineral bath, which is said to be very good for the health. The next seasonal highlight of this tour is the Snow Corridor and Alpine Route. Here, you will be able to see gorgeous mountain scenery, towering walls of snow reaching up to 20 meters high, and get some insight into the rural spirit of Japan.

While on this tour, you will also be able to enjoy the can't- miss sites of Japan. These will include the famous Asakusa Sensoji Temple where you can learn the difference between a temple and a shrine and also enjoy shopping in the nearby market. Learn how to make your own sushi with a professional sushi chef and savor your delicious creations. Drive by the historical Imperial Palace, and take in the view from the record-breaking Tokyo Skytree’s main observation deck. While in Kyoto, you will see the Fushimi Inari shrine well known for its thousand Torii gates. Near-by is Kiyomizu Temple, a large wooden structure most noted for its large stage that juts out from the hill and looks down upon the trees and city. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a green tea ceremony with an apprentice geisha (maiko) . Another important stop will be Hiroshima. Here, you can visit the Peace Park, A-Bomb Museum, and Miyajima. Miyajima island is home to the Itsukushima Shrine and well known for its large Torii gate which was built to appear floating on the water during high tide.

Among the must-see cities and sites of Japan, you will also visit some lesser known but equally important and beautiful sites. You will visit Takayama, Shirakawa-go, and Kanazawa. In Takayama, visitors can experience the local farm grown products and the rural atmosphere of Old Town. In Shirakawa-go, you can see the old style farmhouses of very unique architecture. These are so unique that they have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Many are still in use and some have been made into museums. In Kanazawa, experience the beauty and tradition of the Japanese garden.

These are just a few things you can visit on this tour. After this tour, you will have seen the can't-miss sites of Japan, lesser-known hidden gems, important cultural sites, as well as pop culture areas. This tour will give you much insight into the spirit of Japan and a true understanding of the country as a whole, rather than just the large cities. These have been just a few exampled of the great sites on this tour, please see the full detailed itinerary for more information.
