Beginning in Saga, visit the Mifuneyama Rakuen, a park famous for its cherry blossoms and azaleas. In Nagasaki, visit the Nagasaki Peace Park that holds the memorial for the victims of the second bomb that hit the land. A statue of a man pointing up and holding his other arm out is symbolic of the Nagasaki Peace Park. Make your way to Dejima, an area with over 400 years of history as a Dutch Trade Post. Afterwards, visit the Glover Gardens with its romantic turn of the century houses, as well as Oura Church, the oldest Christian church in Japan. We will also explore Takachiho, a town steeped in myths, legends, and natural beauty. In Beppu, marvel at the Jigoku "hell" of bubbling waters and geysers scattered across the town. Then, enjoy a scenic drive to Mt. Takasaki Monkey Park, where you will get a chance to meet some of the 1,500 wild Japanese monkeys up close. The Kitsuki Samurai District will also be included in this Kyushu tour.

From Kyushu, the Shinkansen bullet train takes you to Hiroshima where you will visit the Peace Memorial Museum and the surrounding Peace Park. On Miyajima Island, you will have a chance to view the famed "floating" torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine. Then, drive through the Shimanami Kaido, a 60 kilometer long toll road that connects Japan's main island of Honshu to the island of Shikoku, passing over six small islands in the Seto Inland Sea, to Shikoku Island. Take in the views of the Kurushima Kaikyo Bridges, standing among hundreds of islands beautifully scattered over the Seto Inland Sea at the Kirosan Observatory.

On Shikoku Island, visit the open air museum of Shikoku Mura Village and see why Japanese gardens are famous in Takamatsu. Drive through the Seto-ohashi Bridge back to Honshu Island, and visit the photogenic canal area of Kurashiki and the majestic castle in Himeji.

On this tour, you will get to savor the world famous Wagyu beef in Kobe and watch a Yokagura Dance Performance. You will also have the opportunity to relax in the therapeutic waters of a natural spa bath at an onsen (hot spring), enjoy the fine flavors of a traditional Japanese banquet dinner, take an evening stroll dressed in your yukata, and rest at a traditional Japanese Ryokan (inn). Immerse yourself in Japanese culture while experiencing the charm and picturesque architecture around you; the elegant wooden buildings, shoji sliding paper doors, tatami mat floors, and courtyard gardens are the essence of this tour.

This itinerary is perfect for those who want to see a little deeper into rural Japan. It is a great opportunity to see a Japan rarely seen or imagined by most visitors.
