This 21days Grand Tour of Japan is the longest and most comprehensive escorted group tour of Japan that you will find. Tour starts from the far south to the northern island by private coaches and domestic flight, visiting all 4 main islands of Japan. This tour caters a wide variety of interest about Japan from culture, architecture, nature, rural villages, historic towns, modern city attractions and summer flowers.

Start your trip in the rarely visited island of Kyushu. Beginning in Nagasaki, visit Nagasaki Peace Park, Dejima, Glover Gardens with its romantic turn of the century houses, and Oura Catholic Church, the oldest standing Christian church in Japan. We will also explore Takachiho, a place of myths and legends. In Beppu, marvel at the Jigoku "hell" of bubbling waters and geysers scattered across the town. Then enjoy a scenic drive to Mt. Takasaki Monkey Park where you will get a chance to meet with some of the 1,500 wild Japanese monkeys up close.

From Kyushu, the Shinkansen bullet train takes you to Hiroshima where you'll visit the Peace Memorial Museum and surrounding Peace Park. On Miyajima Island, you will have a chance to view the famed "floating" Torii Gate of Itsukushima Shrine. Then drive through the Shimanami-kaido, a 60 kilometer long toll road that connects Japan's main island of Honshu to the island of Shikoku, passing over six small islands in the Seto Inland Sea, to Shikoku Island. Take in the views of the Kurushima Kaikyo Bridges standing among hundreds of islands beautifully scattered over the Seto Inland Sea at the Kirosan Observatory.

In Shikoku Island, visit the open air museum of Shikoku Mura Village and see why Japanese gardens are famous in Takamatsu. Drive through the Seto-ohashi Bridge back to Honshu Island and visit the photogenic canal area of Kurashiki and the majestic castle at Himeji. Proceed to Kobe to savor the world famous Wagyu beef. Then to Osaka and Nara as well as the ancient city of Kyoto, where you will have exclusive access to the city's gardens, temples, shrine, castle and specialty shops. You'll also get the opportunity to experience a green tea ceremony and watch a kimono fashion show.

Visit Miho Museum, a stunning architecture that accentuates the surrounding nature while exhibiting a variety of items from different ancient civilizations. It was designed by the renowned architect, I. M. Pei, and is named after Koyama Mihoko, one of the richest women in Japan and the founder of the museum. Moreover, the museum has been listed as one of the "1000 Places To See Before You Die". From there, visit Koka Ninja Mansion. This mansion used to be resided in by ninja, equipped with many ingenious traps and devices, designed to prevent intruders and to provide a means of escape in times of need. Then proceed to Toyota Kaikan Museum, you will see demonstrations of concept cars that have not yet been developed for street use. Then, experience riding one of Japan's Shinkansen bullet trains before transferring to Atami Onsen. There, you'll stay at an onsen hotel (Japanese style room), where you can unwind in the hot springs (onsen) and dine on gourmet kaiseki cuisine.

Spend a day at Hakone and the world famous Mt. Fuji. Then, enjoy comprehensive touring in Tokyo. Explore Tokyo's cultural landmarks, fashionable neighborhoods, and diverse shopping districts on a private guided tour. Learn how to make your own sushi with a professional sushi chef and savor your delicious creations. Visit Tokyo's most famous attractions like the Shibuya Crossing, Asakusa Sensoji Temple, Tsukiji Market, Imperial Palace, and Tokyo Tower.

From Tokyo, transfer to Sapporo by a domestic flight, where we will visit Furano, Biei, Sounkyo, Abashiri, Shiretoko, Kushiro, Biratori, Noboribetsu, Lake Toya, Otaru and Sapporo. Summer is the best season to visit Hokkaido. It’s the prefecture with the mildest climate in summer. It’s not as hot and humid during the day, and it cools down ever so nicely during the evening making each night all the more enjoyable. Furthermore, Hokkaido offers beautiful nature and flower fields which are best explored during the summer time. Hokkaido is considered Japan’s last frontier and is home to the indigenous Ainu people. This region includes towering mountain ranges, pristine lakes, volcanoes, vast forests, open pastures, and hot springs (onsen). In the mild summers you’ll see an explosion of color, with over 500 alpine flowers blooming throughout the season. Hokkaido's marshlands become a nursery for many new families such as Goosander and Japanese Crane chicks and female Sika Deer with calves in tow head for the seclusion of coastal marshes. At Shiretoko, we will also get the opportunity to take a small boat to cruise close to Shiretoko's sheer rocky cliffs and observe colonies of sea birds and Brown Bear.

This itinerary is perfect for those who wish to discover the whole country in one time and see all Japan has to offer.
