This 14-day tour takes travelers to explore the history and culture of China and Japan during one of Asia’s most vividly colorful seasons. In the China portion, explore the wondrous man-made marvels of Chinese antiquity in Beijing by paying visits to Tiananmen Square, as well as the antique palaces of the Forbidden City, and the Ming Tombs. Then, at the awe-inspiring Great Wall, see the impressive length of this monument as it stretches across hills of orange and gold. Also catch a glimpse of the more modern capital in the Wangfujing Shopping Street, where you'll enjoy a crisp Peking Duck lunch. Travel from there to Xian for an inspection of the Terracotta Warriors, an awe- inspiring display of the military might of the Qin Dynasty. Explore Huaqing Pool to see the exquisite hot spring baths of China's emperors. Then enjoy a lunch of hot dumplings in central Xian, where you can see the city's iconic Bell Tower. In Shanghai, you'll see the city panorama from within the Observation Deck of Shanghai WFC Tower, take a stroll down Nanjing Street, and appreciate the unique architecture found at the Bund.

Then, in the Japan portion, journey through Nara, where you can see Todaiji Temple - the oldest wooden building in Japan, and outside you can meet some of Nara Park's adorable deer, browsing below bright leafy canopies of orange and red. After, experience a traditional Green Tea Ceremony in Uji, the history of sake production at the Gekkeikan Sake Museum, and thousands of red gates at Fushimi Inari Shrine. Then Kyoto awaits, dressed in her autumn finest, where you will see Nijo Castle, the Zen rock garden of Tenryuji and the 18- karat gold leaf covering Kinkaku-ji. Nearby, Arashiyama’s dense bamboo grove acquires a golden autumn glow as your group ambles the path through tall trees toward Togetsukyo Bridge. Later, head up to Kiyomizu Temple’s broad wooden stage for a spectacular view of the Kyoto countryside splashed with crisp fall colors. Travel from there to Koka and the Miho Museum, listed as one of the “1000 Places to See Before You Die”. Then take the Shinkansen bullet train to Hakone to view a stunning Mt. Fuji - the cultural centerpiece of much of Japan's artistic inspiration. Take the Hakone Ropeway to Owakudani, home to many volcanic hot springs and rivers. Then at last, in Tokyo, see the statue in memory of Japan’s most loyal dog, Hachiko, and the frenetic Shibuya Crossing. The group will also visit the centuries-old Asakusa Temple and the Imperial Palace, where bright green branches are enlivened by with bold bursts of red. While in Japan’s capital, take the elevator to the observation deck of Tokyo Tower, visit the Tsukiji Market, and make a delicious sushi lunch.
