Explore deeper into Japan by traveling to the country’s three main islands: Kyushu, Honshu, and Shikoku. This itinerary also takes you to the less frequented parts of Japan, including the Japanese Alps regions - Takayama and Matsumoto. Experience a comprehensive visit to Japan during the spring, one of the most beautiful seasons in Japan.

This reverse itinerary begins in Nagasaki, where you will first visit Glover Gardens with its romantic turn of the century houses, Nagasaki Peace Park, Oura Catholic Church, and Dejima, a former trading district with centuries of Dutch history. Spend time in the legendary town of Takachiho and enjoy spectacular views of the Takachiho Gorge. In Beppu, view the “hells” of Jigoku, which are bubbling hot springs and geysers scattered across the town. Afterwards, make your way to the Mt. Takasaki Monkey Park, where you can interact with some of the park's 1,500 wild Japanese monkeys. You will also visit a beautifully preserved samurai district and ride a Shinkansen bullet train.

Travel to Hiroshima for an eye-opening experience at Peace Memorial Park. Take a short ferry ride to Miyajima Island, home to the famed vermilion torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine. Drive through the Shimanami Kaido, a 60 kilometer long toll road that connects Japan's main island of Honshu to the island of Shikoku, passing over six small islands. Stroll through a pleasant air museum, visit Ritsurin Park, and then cross the Seto Ohashi Bridge back to the Honshu Island.

You will also have the opportunity to experience a green tea ceremony with an apprentice geisha (maiko), enjoy a traditional Yokagura Dance Performance, learn how to make sushi with a professional chef, and taste the world famous Wagyu beef. Visit the charming canal town of Kurashiki and stop by one of the most visited castles in Japan, Himeji Castle. Continue to Nara for its noteworthy Todaiji Temple, and spend time at a deer park where over 1,000 Sika deer freely roam.

In Kyoto, you will gain exclusive access to a hand- selected list of the city’s best shrines, temples, and gardens. Visit a charming bamboo forest and a traditional Zen garden in Arashiyama, located on the outskirts of Kyoto. Then, tour the famous Gion Geisha District, lined with restaurants and ochaya (teahouses).

Stroll through one of Japan’s most beautiful gardens in Kanazawa, known as Kenrokuen Garden. Then, go back in time by visiting the quaint village of Shirakawa-go, famous for its Gassho-zukuri architecture. Continue sightseeing in the remote city of Takayama, where you will get to experience its morning market and beautifully preserved Old Town. Our group will also visit the outstanding Matsumoto Castle, also known as “Crow Castle” for its elegant black exterior.

Enjoy a ropeway ride over Hakone and Owakudani, and take in views of Japan’s famous Mt Fuji. End your tour in Tokyo, where you will visit the city’s modern attractions, historical monuments, and lively entertainment districts. This includes the Shibuya Crossing, Tsukiji Outer Market, Asakusa Sensoji Temple, and Tokyo SkyTree.
