Experience the must-see tourist attractions in Tokyo, Matsumoto, Takayama, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Sapporo. Enjoy a unique trip to Japan on this special winter itinerary, designed to see both modern and traditional highlights of Japan.

Beginning in Tokyo, the tour will follow through major cities and cultural highlights on the Honshu Island before ending in Sapporo. Our private guides and drivers will help you navigate through Tokyo's cultural landmarks, trendy neighborhoods, and bustling shopping districts. Learn how to make your own sushi with a professional sushi chef and savor your delicious creations. Explore attractions like the Asakusa district with an atmosphere of old Tokyo, Japan's largest and busiest fish market, the historical Imperial Palace, and the record-breaking Tokyo Tower.

Travelers on this winter itinerary will also enjoy lovely views of Mt. Fuji from the Kachi Kachi Ropeway, and visit the distinctive Black Crow Castle (Matsumoto Castle). Afterwards, you will get stay at a ryokan (Japanese traditional inn) where you can unwind in the hot springs (onsen) and dine on a gourmet kaiseki cuisine. Head to the Snow Monkey Park and watch the famous snow monkeys bathe in their hot springs. Then, travel to Takayama, located amongst the Japanese Alps. In this remote part of Japan, you will experience a beautifully preserved and unique culture different from the rest of the country. Visit the unspoiled village of Shirakawa-go to see what a gassho-zukuri architecture style looks like. Make your way to Kanazawa, a beautiful city often overlooked by Western tourists. Here, you'll visit the distinguished Kenrokuen Garden (one of Japan's top three gardens) and see what six characteristics make up a perfect landscape.

Spend two days in the ancient city of Kyoto and visit the Nijo Castle, Golden Pavilion, Kiyomizu Temple, Gion Geisha District, and Fushimi Inari Shrine. You will also have the opportunity to experience a green tea ceremony and watch a kimono fashion show. Continue your trip to Nara and see the oldest wooden building in Japan, which also houses the largest bronze Buddha statue. From there, proceed to Osaka for shopping and entertainment.

From Osaka, our winter itinerary will take you to Otaru, located in Hokkaido. Then, you will enjoy two days in Sapporo, Hokkaido’s largest city. Spend the day admiring the biggest snow sculptures of Hokkaido at the famous Sapporo Snow Festival, and enjoy a bird's eye view of the city from the Sapporo TV Tower. Other highlights include the Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, Historic Village of Hokkaido, and Shiroi Koibito Park. End your tour with beer tasting at the Sapporo Beer Museum.

This itinerary takes advantage of the season and all of Japan’s gorgeous winter highlights. Travel to the remote, unspoiled regions of Japan and the popular, innovative attractions too. Spend your winter vacation on the “Golden Triangle of Japan: Snow Monkeys and Sapporo Snow Festival” tour.
