The Takayama Festival is known as one of the most beautiful festivals in Japan, and the spring festival (Sanno Festival) takes place on April 14th and 15th every year. Its main feature is the gorgeous yatai (floats) that parade the town, decorated with detailed carvings, tapestries, and karakuri dolls (marionettes).

This itinerary also features national parks, cultural opportunities, exceptional architecture, and "must see" sights of Tokyo & Kyoto. Included highlights are the best spring gardens and cherry blossom spots. This tour begins in Osaka, following a route of mountainous areas, through the coastal regions of Honshu island, and finishes in Tokyo. You will get the opportunity to experience a traditional green tea ceremony, interact and take photos with an apprentice geisha (maiko) , bathe in a relaxing hot springs (onsen), savor gourmet kaiseki cuisine, make sushi, and enjoy a lively festival.

Our private guides and drivers will also take you to Nara and the ancient city of Kyoto, where you will have exclusive access to the city's most famous gardens, temples, and specialty shops. The gardens and temples you will visit in Kyoto have been selected for their well- known reputation as the "best places to see cherry blossoms". In Kanazawa, stroll through the beautiful Kenrokuen Garden and see what six attributes make a perfect landscape. Visit the charming village of Shirakawa-go, a World Heritage site known for its gassho-zukuri architectural style. Continue to Takayama and transport yourself back to 15th century Japan as you watch traditional music performances and thousands of people in costume parade through town. Visit the world- famous Mt. Fuji and take in the natural scenery of Hakone.

Lastly, tour the vibrant city of Tokyo by visiting fashionable and diverse shopping districts.
