The Takayama Festival is known as one of the most beautiful festivals in Japan, and the spring festival (Sanno Festival) takes place on April 14th and 15th every year. Its main feature is the gorgeous yatai (floats) that parade the town, decorated with detailed carvings, tapestries, and karakuri dolls (marionettes).

This itinerary also features national parks, cultural opportunities, exceptional architecture, and "must see" sights of Tokyo & Kyoto. Included highlights are the best spring gardens and cherry blossom spots. This tour begins in Osaka, following a route of mountainous areas, through the coastal regions of Honshu island, and finishes in Tokyo. You will get the opportunity to experience a traditional green tea ceremony, interact and take photos with an apprentice geisha (maiko), watch a kimono fashion show, bathe in a relaxing hot springs (onsen), savor gourmet kaiseki cuisine, make sushi, and enjoy a lively festival.
