Japan is hailed as one of the world's top ski destinations, and for good reason! With ski resorts across the breathtaking Japanese Alps (a mountain range spanning 5 prefectures), there are endless opportunities for winter excitement. This 10-day Japan ski tour pairs Tokyo, Kyoto and Nara - three of Japan's most coveted sightseeing destinations - with three days at one of the country's top ski resorts - Oku Shiga Kogen!

The tour begins in Tokyo, one of the largest cities in the world, with two days of guided tours that include Asakusa Sensoji Temple, the Edo Tokyo Museum, Akihabara Electric Town, Meiji Shrine, and the Harajuku's fashionable Takeshita Street. Then it's off to Nagano prefecture for three days at the Oku Shiga Kogen Hotel Ski Resort - the perfect resort for both skiing / snowboarding travel groups and families with small children. The resort has ski runs that can challenge beginner and advanced skiers. The tour wraps up with 4 days in immersing in the historic sights of Kyoto and Nara, with incredible UNESCO heritage temples, shrines, and castles, like the Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle, Fushimi Inari Shrine, and Todaiji Temple. There are also a number of optional activities that you can add to your Japan ski trip, like learning calligraphy, partaking in a green tea ceremony, or enjoying a dinner of kaiseki cuisine with geisha entertainment. Ask your AJT travel specialist about adding these activities to your itinerary. The tours will make use of Japan's smooth and efficient public transportation system, and will ship your luggage to and from the ski resort. Please browse below for the full itinerary.
