Arriving in early May, the cherry blossoms of Hokkaido
bring a rich beauty to a landscape that has finally
shaken off the snow of winter.
Relax in the gorgeous landscape of Noboribetsu Onsen
“Jigokudani”, where you can choose form seven
different onsen hot spring baths to soak in. Although
Jigokudani means “Hell Valley”, you’ll enjoy heavenly
relaxation among the cherry blossoms of Noboribetsu,
followed by a delectable full course meal of traditional
kaiseki cuisine. Continue from there to Hakodate,
stopping by Cape Chikyuu to take in a spectacular
ocean view and taste fresh-caught seafood prepared by
local fishermen. Then dip your feet in a foot bath at
Shikabe and take in a breathtaking view of the city from
Shirotai Skyline. After arriving in Hakodate, view the
city’s loveliest cherry blossoms at the star-shaped public
park Fort Goryokaku. See the cherry blossoms
surrounding classical Matsumae Castle, and try on
samurai armor at the Matsumae Han Yashiki before
visiting the local shrine. We visit the local fish market for
a seafood meal before departing for Lake Toya.
On the way to Lake Toya and Niseko, view the gorgeous
natural landscape of Onuma Quasi-National Park,
where you will drive through a cherry blossom tunnel on
the way. At Lake Toya, visit Lake Hill farm to make your
own gelato, taste a hot lunch made in a Dutch oven, and
take the ropeway up Mount Usu to see the clear waters
of the lake from a distance. Then head to Niseko and
see the cherry blossoms growing around Mount Yotei,
also known as Ezo-Fuji, before we had to the port city of
Otaru. Spend the day in Otaru seeing the old fishing
port’s historic must-sees, including Otaru Canal and
Sakaimachi Street, then try your hand and making your
own glass art at a glassblowing workshop. Try
mouthwatering cheesecake at LeTAO’s Cheesecake
Factory and taste rich sake from a local brewery.
We finally return to Sapporo, where you can taste
delicious sweets at the Sapporo Chocolate Factory, then
take in the view from the Okura Ski Jump Observatory.
Take a walk in Odori Park, taste fresh Sapporo beer,
and browse the stores and restaurants of Susukino, or
visit the Tanuki Koji Shopping Arcade Street. You have
your choice of Sapporo cuisine for dinner: Sapporo
Ramen, Genghis Khan, or Soup Curry, before the end of
the tour.
