Taste the very best cuisine and sake of Japan on our
Private Luxury Food and Sake Tour of Japan. Japanese
cuisine is famous the world over for its rich umami
flavors, creativity, and even health benefits. This
itinerary is all experience: for travelers who desire to
understand Japan’s rich culture through its cuisine. Here
are dining experiences that every foodie traveler dreams
about – at eateries that run the gamut from little
streetside stalls to exclusive Michelin Star
establishments. And what foodie tour to Japan would be
complete without tasting fine Japanese sake? Go
beyond simple tastings and tour select sake breweries
to learn first-hand about the production process and
history of Japanese rice wine.
The tour begins in Tokyo, a popular gastronomic hub
among traveling foodies, and we bring you its best.
Taste prize tuna at Toyosu Wholesale Fish Market,
swish vegetable and cured meats in broth while eating
shabu-shabu, savor carefully prepared fugu puffer fish,
try a yuba and tofu-based kaiseki meal, chow down on
chanko nabe with a sumo wrestler, nosh on yakitori
skewers in a Kabukicho izakaya, learn to make a dish of
Japanese homestyle cuisine, and dine on sushi in an
exclusive restaurant with 2 Michelin Stars. There will be
plenty to drink along the way, especially in the bars of
Shinjuku Golden Gai, and during a sake-tasting tour of
Sawanoi Ozawa brewery. Before heading off to Kyoto,
we take some time to try the different ramen dishes at
the Yokohama Ramen Museum, some hot and delicious
Chinese cuisine in Yokohama Chinatown, and a wine-
tasting near Mount Fuji.
Ride a first-class bullet train to Kyoto, where your foodie
adventures continue, with mouthwatering experiences
that include a Vegetarian Kaiseki Meal and Bar in a
Temple, a Sake Tour of the Fushimi District, A Green
Tea Ceremony, a chance to try making authentic
Japanese sweets, a Michelin-star Tempura Dinner, and
another Kyoto Kaiseki meal, with Geisha entertainment.
We make sure you won’t miss Kyoto’s most beautiful
historic sites, including the Golden Pavilion, Kiyomizu
Temple, Nijo Castle, and Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine.
We enjoy a day in Osaka that includes a meal of
Kushikatsu skewers, followed by a dinner of succulent
King Crab. And, as the tour draws to a close, we spend
a day in Kobe featuring a tour of the Hakutsuru Sake
Brewery and, of course, melt-in-your-mouth Kobe
wagyu beef. Transportation for this tour is facilitated by
our sleek and comfortable private coaches and you will
be accompanied by one of our friendly, professional
English-speaking guides.
