Hokkaido has long been known for its famous powdery-
like snow which draws skiers from around the world.
With Hokkaido also hosting several winter festivals,
guests of all ages will enjoy this winter journey. Whether
you are looking to have some fun in the snow or tour
around Japan's northern island, this journey offers it all!
Enjoy a guided tour through the popular cities of
Sapporo, Otaru, and Noboribetsu, while enjoying a few
days in Niseko to ski, sled, or even ride a snow mobile.
Let All Japan Tours take care of the planning with this
special winter journey.
Upon arrival, visit Shikotsu's annual ice festival before
visiting Jigokudani Hell Valley which displays hot steam
vents and sulfurous streams. Enjoy your day in
Noboribetsu while wearing snowshoes and explore the
city on your own. There are also optional crafting
activities that guests can enjoy. Ride on the Mt. Usu
Ropeway and learn about this volcano at the Volcano
Museum. Travel to the Silo Observatory to catch
stunning panoramic views of Lake Toya before grabbing
delectable gelato at the Lake Hill Farm. Spend the next
few days exploring Niseko, one of Japan's most popular
places for skiing. With soft, powdery snow covering the
ground, there are plenty of activities to participate in,
such as sledding and snowmobiling. As home to the
largest ski resort in Japan, there are plenty of lessons
and facilities offered for all levels of skiers.
Travel to Otaru, first visiting the Otaru canal, then the
Tanaka Sake Brewery, where guests will learn about
how sake is made. Visit a famous cheesecake factory
and the popular Sakaimachi Street, where Otaru's glass
workshops and the Otaru Music Box Museum can be
found. Enjoy fresh seafood at the Otaru Sushi District
before transferring to Sapporo. Stop by Nijo Market and
Sapporo's Historic Village before visiting the Sapporo
Beer Museum, with its popular beer brewed in Sapporo
since 1877. Your next day in Sapporo will be spent
exploring the Sapporo Snow Festival. Enjoy the three
sites of this festival: Odori Site, Susukino Site and
Tsudome Site, each offering a different aspect to the
festival.
