Anime enthusiasts and manga lovers, also known as
“otaku”, will find all their wishes come true when visiting
Japan. Many attractions directed towards anime/manga
lovers are found in Tokyo, particularly in Akihabara.
Akihabara is the go-to town for anime goods, including
figures, manga, electronics stores, and many more
limited-edition items only sold in Japan. Feel free to stop
by the Tokyo Anime Center located in Akihabara, which
holds various anime-related events. The town is also
renowned for its maid cafés. Maid cafés are themed
restaurants in which waitresses dress in cosplay
costumes and provide services to guests through
conversation, games, and even songs.
Besides Akihabara, there are numerous anime spots
found all over Tokyo. An indoor theme park in Ikebukuro,
J-World Tokyo, is based on the best-selling manga
magazine “Shonen Jump”. Attractions are inspired by
famous mangas and animes, such as One Piece,
Dragonball, and Naruto. Other fan-favorite “otaku” spots
in Tokyo include Nakano Broadway, Gundam Front,
Tokyo One Piece Tower, and the Suginami Animation
Museum.
