So you have decided to fulfill your dreams of traveling to Japan, a timeless place that combines traditional culture with modern innovations. The question is, where should you go in Japan?

You could explore the dynamic city of Tokyo, go back in time on the old streets of Kyoto, or escape to Hokkaido for a close to nature experience. The ideas of where to go in Japan are endless. Luckily, listed below are highly- favorable attractions that are definitely worth visiting. Whether you are interested in lively cities, art, architecture, Japanese cuisine, natural scenery, gardens, temples, shrines, castles, or all of the above, there is something for everyone.

Let’s start with the #1 destination in Japan, Tokyo, the country’s capital and most populous city. Famously known as the heart of Japan, Tokyo offers an unlimited number of places to see and things to do. Check out the electric town of Akihabara, the center of anime and manga culture. Visit Shibuya, a thriving shopping and entertainment district, famous for its Shibuya Crossing that is featured in numerous films and photographs

The list goes on, but that would take ages! One must travel to Tokyo to truly understand this special city and everything within it.

Another idea of where to go in Japan is the ancient city of Kyoto, once the longtime capital of Japan and residence of the Emperor. It is arguably one of the biggest cultural centers of Japan, home to national treasures and priceless structures. Visit one of the most celebrated temples in Kyoto, the Kiyomizudera Temple, which affords its visitors an excellent view of the city on its renowned wooden stage.
