Sasebo

Sasebo is located in Nagasaki prefecture with a population of around 251,000 people, making it the second largest and core city of this prefecture. This port town was once a fishing village until the Meiji period, when naval military bases occupied the area. Today the U.S. Fleet Activities Sasebo with beautiful ocean scenery and historical background influenced by America, providing a mixture of Americanized shops along with a different view compared to other ports of Japan for visitors to experience.
