Room Type Explained

Single Room

Single room types are rooms for single room occupants.
One person will be occupying the hotel room throughout the tour.

Twin Room

Twin room types are rooms set for two people who will occupy one room, but will have two separate beds.

Double Room

A double room is a room that has one bed for two people to share.

Triple Room

A triple room is one room where three people may share the same room. It has three separate beds.

Japanese Style Room

A Japanese-style room traditionally does not have a western-style bed, it is a tatami floor room with futon bedding. However, if you prefer a western-style bed, you may request one though we cannot guarantee it.

Please note: If you would like to request neighboring rooms next to your traveling companions, you and your traveling companions must have the same room types in order to be next to each other. For example, if you have requested a double room, but your traveling companions have requested a twin, or triple room, then neighboring rooms cannot be accommodated. However, if both you and your traveling companions match in room type, then neighboring rooms will likely be arranged for your convenience.

The next day offers a thrilling ride on the bullet train as you travel to Hiroshima. While visiting the nearby island of Miyajima, see the famous Itsukushima Shrine, the "floating" torii gate before visiting Senjokaku Hall, originally built to be a Buddhist library. Ride up Mount Misen using the ropeway to the highest peak, where guests can enjoy views over the island. Explore Hiroshima, a city with a tragic history, where we will visit the Peace Memorial Park, the A-Bomb Museum, and Hiroshima Castle before traveling to Kyoto. In Arashiyama, visit the Tenryuji Temple and the Zen Garden, make your way through the bamboo forest, and have fun at Iwatayma Monkey Park. Pay a visit to the Golden Pavillion, known as Kinkakuji, and Nijo Castle. Guests in Kyoto will also visit Kiyomizu Temple, one of the most celebrated temples in all of Japan, and can try on kimono as a family. At the nearby Kodaiji Temple, experience a green tea ceremony before exploring the Gion Geisha District. Take a day trip to Nara to see the beautiful Todaiji Temple and the Nara Deer Park, where wild deer roam free. Day1

Welcome to Tokyo

Welcome to Tokyo! We will arrange your private transportation from the airport. Please look for the guide with the All Japan Tours sign.

Day2

Tokyo (Asakusa Sensoji Temple - Nakamise District / Ninja Samurai Lesson / Tokyo Skytree / Akihabara)

We begin our journey by visiting Asakusa Sensoji Temple, Tokyo's oldest temple. Marvel at the architecture around the ancient Buddhist Temple and see one of the largest paper lanterns in Japan. You can also visit Nakamise Street, a historical shopping street lined with souvenir and snack shops near the temple. Next, we will learn about ninja and samurai, with an interactive experience before heading to the Tokyo Skytree. As the tallest structure in Japan, the Skytree holds two observation decks and offers stunning views over the city. After, we will travel to Akihabara, known for its electronic stores and anime goods. Search the shops for deals on electronics or try your hand at Japanese arcade games.

Day3

Tokyo (Tsukiji Outer Market / Sushi Making Experience / Harajuku / Shibuya)

Today we will enjoy another day in Tokyo, exploring the city on foot. Head to the Tsukiji Outer Market, where we can find Tokyo's freshest seafood, as well as several shops and restaurants. For lunch, learn from a professional chef how to prepare your own sushi and savor your delicious creations. We then visit Harajuku, where guests can visit the fashionable Omotesando District with boutiques and upscale cafes, or visit the nearby Takeshita Street, a haven of fashionable and quirky shops. Try tasty crepes or explore the fun fashion shops before heading to Shibuya. Known for its popular crosswalk decorated by neon signs and giant video screens, Shibuya also offers several department stores and entertainment for all ages.

Day4

Yokohama (Ramen Museum), Mt Fuji (5th Station - Depending on the weather condition / Lake Kawaguchi)

After breakfast, we will travel from Tokyo to Yokohama to visit the unique Ramen Museum. The first floor is home to the Ramen Museum, which showcases the history of ramen noodles in Japan, including displays of various noodles, soups, toppings, and bowls used across Japan. Head to the basement levels, where guests can purchase various types of ramen to try from several different shops. Travel together to Mt. Fuji where, if the weather allows, we may be able to visit the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji. Enjoy the cool climate and vegetation as you explore Mt. Fuji's souvenir shops. Stop by Lake Kawaguchi to catch beautiful views no matter the season. We then head to our Japanese Inn (Ryokan) for the night, where we enjoy a traditional kaiseki dinner, which consists of multiple courses. After dinner, you can unwind in the therapeutic bath waters of the inn's hot spring baths.

Day5

Hakone (Hakone Yosegi Zaiku Experience / Lake Ashi Cruise / Hakone Ropeway / Owakudani)

This morning, we will explore Hakone, first enjoying a Yosegi Zaiku Experience, a traditional local craft dating back to the Edo period. These wooden boxes comprise of several wooden pieces with different colors or patterns and require many steps to open, similar to a puzzle. We then enjoy a scenic cruise around Lake Ashi, which was formed after Mount Hakone's last eruption 3000 years ago. After the cruise, take a ride on the Hakone Ropeway, which offers splendid views as you ride to Owakudani. Today, much of Owakudani is an active volcanic zone, but offers wonderful hiking trails and beautiful views of Mt. Fuji. In the evening, head back to your hotel for another night of kaiseki dinner and relaxing in the hot spring bath.

Day6

First Class Bullet Train to Hiroshima

We will spend today traveling from Mt. Fuji to Hiroshima, enjoying the ride on the high speed bullet train. With your included tickets, transfer to Mishima Station, where you will board the bullet train. Upon arrival at Hiroshima Station, we will transfer to our Japanese-style Inn for the night, which will offer another delicious kaiseki dinner and a chance to bathe in the therapuetic hot spring waters.

Day7

Miyajima Island (Itsukushima Shrine / Senjokaku Hall / Daisho- in Temple / Mount Misen - Ropeway)

Set out to Miyajima, where we will see the famous Itsukushima Shrine, the "floating" torii gate. During high tide, the water covers the bath to this torii gate, making the shrine look as if it's floating on the water. During low tide, guests are able to walk out to the famous torii gate. Visit the Senjokaku Hall, originally built to be a Buddhist library where the chanting of Buddhist sutras could be held every month. Next, we visit one of the most important temples of Shingon Buddhism, Daisho-in Temple, where Kobo Daishi first began the practice of Buddhism on Miyajima. We then travel up Mount Misen, riding the ropeway to the highest peak and enjoying the cool breezes and gorgeous views. Travel back to your Japanese Inn for the night, enjoying the dinner and soaking in the hot springs.

Day8

Hiroshima (Peace Memorial Park / A-Bomb Museum / Hiroshima Castle), First Class Bullet Train to Kyoto

We will start our day by exploring Hiroshima, a city wih a tragic history, where we will visit the Peace Memorial Park and the A-Bomb Museum. The Memorial Peace Park area once served as the political and commericial heart of the city. The A-Bomb Museum located in the park was one of the only buildings left standing after the bomb. We will then walk the castle grounds surrounding Hiroshima Castle, which was rebuilt after being destroyed by the atomic bomb. Learn more about the history of the city and its bright future ahead during your time here. With your included tickets, hop on the bullet train and travel to the ancient city of Kyoto.

Day9

Kyoto (Arashiyama - Tenryuji Temple & Garden - Bamboo Grove - Iwatayama Monkey Park / Golden Pavilion / Nijo Castle)

This morning, we will head to Arashiyama, where we will visit the Tenryuji Temple and the Zen Garden. The garden paints a lovely picture, as it is surrounded by the mountains and pine trees. Make your way through the bamboo forest before visiting the Iwatayma Monkey Park, where guests can see and feed the wild Japanese macaque that live in the park. We then make our way to visit the Golden Pavillion, known as Kinkakuji. This Zen Temple's top two floors have been covered in gold leaf which reflect on the surrounding pond. Before heading back to our hotel, we will stop by Nijo Castle, where we can visit the scenic castle grounds that have been around since 1603.

Day10

Kyoto (Kiyomizu Temple / Kimono Wearing Experience / Kodaiji Temple - Zen Meditation & Green Tea Ceremony / Gion Geisha District)

Pay a visit to Kiyomizu Temple, one of the most celebrated temples in all of Japan. The temple was built near the Otowa Waterfall, which lies at the base of the temple's main hall. Nearby, we will try on kimono and have the opportunity for a souvenir photo. After changing out of the kimono, head to Kodaiji Temple, where guests will experience the relaxing effects of zen meditation and participate in a green tea ceremony. In the evening, head to the Gion Geisha District to explore the many shops located in the district. If you're lucky, you may have a chance to see a geisha or maiko (apprentice geisha) heading to their next appointment.

Day11

Nara (Todaiji Temple / Nara Deer Park), Kyoto (Fushimi Inari Shrine)

We will travel to Nara in the morning to visit the renowned Todaiji Temple. The main hall of this grand temple holds one of Japan's largest bronze statues of Buddha and is beautifully designed. Surrounding the temple, you will find hundreds of wild deer, which are accustomed to visitors, with some even bowing to guests. We then travel back to Kyoto, where we will stop by Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of vermilion Torii Gates. The gates weave through the mountains, making for a lovely walk.
